Iron County Warrant RecordsIron County Warrant Records

To chase down an Iron County municipal warrant, go straight to the court printed on the citation and call before you pay anything. A city officer may have written the ticket, but only the court controls the plea, the payment, and whether a warrant gets recalled. Iron County Justice Court now handles the lower-court docket here, including matters moved over from the former city court in Parowan. District cases belong to Fifth District Court. For questions about agency records or how a warrant was served, the Iron County Sheriff's Office is the office that answers. A statewide file search and an agency-record request are two different tools, and each covers different ground. Keep the citation or case number handy when you call, since a city office cannot recall a court order on its own.

Iron County Municipal Court Warrants

In Iron County, "municipal warrant" is just shorthand readers use for a city ordinance, traffic, or failure-to-appear matter. No city here runs its own warrant roster. The working lower-court route runs through Iron County Justice Court, while the police agency that wrote the citation may hold its own incident or service record. Start by confirming which court is printed on the notice. The statewide BCI file is a separate search and can help you spot the case, but only the issuing court can say whether an order is still active and what it will take to recall it. Call the clerk before assuming anything.

Iron County Uses Justice Court Routing

One court now carries most lower-level cases in Iron County. The Justice Court takes traffic tickets, infractions, class B and C misdemeanors, county matters, and ordinances from participating cities. Wondering whether a warrant is active? Its public page tells you to call and ask. Even when a city officer wrote the citation or served the order, this court still rules on payment, judge appearances, and any recall of the warrant. Two documents set the current route: the Parowan court notice and the Justice Court's own page. The elected County Clerk in Parowan is an administrative officer only, not the court clerk. Open the Justice Court contact page.

"Municipal court" here describes how city cases are routed, not a claim that every town runs its own bench. Lower-court matters in Iron County flow through the Justice Court. Police service and court authority sit in different offices.

The Parowan City Court Transfer

Parowan City Justice Court shut its doors and moved everything to Iron County Justice Court effective July 1, 2025. Cases dated June 30, 2025 or earlier still have their own online payment route on the county payment page. For any current status question, start with the Justice Court rather than the old counter. Geography adds a twist. Parowan stays the county seat, but the Justice Court counter sits in Cedar City, and mixing up those roles can send you to the wrong building. The Parowan notice explains the transfer date.

Checking a Municipal Court Warrant

Begin with the citation or court notice in hand. Is the matter a local traffic or ordinance case? Use the Justice Court payment lookup, pick the court, and enter the citation or case number. A blank result does not clear you. The citation may simply not be filed or indexed yet, so call the clerk before assuming no warrant exists. Different questions lead to different offices in Iron County. Want a city incident or service record? Ask the police agency that created it. A statewide-file match runs through BCI, then a call to the named court. A Sheriff GRAMA request covers Sheriff records only, not a case the court holds.

  1. Read the citation for court name, case number, and deadline.
  2. Search the court payment page or BCI statewide file as appropriate.
  3. Call Iron County Justice Court about local city, traffic, and FTA matters.
  4. Use the city police contact for its incident or service record.
  5. Ask the issuing court what will recall the warrant and keep written proof.

What a City Officer Can and Cannot Do

What can a city officer actually do? A police department may issue or route a citation, and it may serve a warrant. It cannot take the court's plea or dismiss a filed citation. Cedar City's written traffic policy says only the court can dismiss an issued citation, and that same split applies whenever another local agency answers the service call. Records staff at a city can answer requests for their agency's records through their own process. That answer will not recall a warrant. Take legal-status questions to the court and service-record questions to the agency.

Keep the roles separate: Police service, court recall, Jail custody, and Sheriff records are four different questions.

Inside a Municipal Court Warrant

A city warrant record can tie together several pieces. Think citation, ordinance or charge, court, appearance date, payment status, warrant action, and any service event. Iron County's local materials show no complete sample municipal-warrant record and no verified warrant-number format.

A police record request and a court recall request are not interchangeable.

Brian Head Public Safety and Service

Brian Head shows one more service model inside Iron County. The town runs a Public Safety and marshal role, and its code covers service of warrants and legal process. Recall still rests with the issuing court named on the citation, not the town. Use the town page for public-safety contacts and location questions rather than as a countywide active-warrant search. The Brian Head Public Safety page describes the local department.

How to Resolve a Municipal Warrant

Start by calling the court that issued the warrant and asking what it takes to clear it: full payment, bail, or an appearance before the judge. Iron County Justice Court is blunt about one point. Asking for a later court date does not recall a warrant on its own. The person must either post bail or be seen by the judge before the warrant comes off the books. Payment can affect the underlying case too, so before sending money, ask the clerk about traffic school or plea options that might fit better. Once payment or an appearance is done, keep the receipt or written order, and ask when the statewide file will update. Reports from a city agency go through the department that holds them. For someone in custody, call the Jail's official number directly.

Local rule: The issuing court, not the city police desk or Jail, confirms recall.

Paragonah’s Contracted Police Service

Paragonah runs no police department of its own. The town contracts police service through Parowan, and its town page sends court and warrant questions to Iron County Justice Court. A contract like that changes who shows up at the door. It does not move recall authority from the court to the town, so any warrant still lives or dies with the issuing judge. For after-hours matters, Cedar Communications dispatches several Iron County agencies and can route a public-safety call to the right one. Dispatch cannot tell you a warrant's court status, though. The state dispatch page lists the agencies tied into that network.
